I was born in Zonguldak in January 1961. I completed my primary and secondary education in Tokat and Edirne.
I passed the entrance exam and continued my high school education at Ankara Science High School between 1976 and 1978. I ranked seventh in Turkey in my science score on the University Entrance Exam and was accepted to Istanbul University's Istanbul Faculty of Medicine with the top score.
During my university education, I received a Presidential Honorary Scholarship for placing first in the TÜBİTAK scholarship exam.
I completed my internal medicine internship at Ealing General Hospital in London. I completed my compulsory service as a general practitioner in Siirt between October 1984 and July 1986.
In 1986, I began my specialization training in the Radiodiagnostics Department at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital. During my residency, I worked as a rotational technician in computed tomography, angiography, and interventional radiology in the Radiology Department of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine for 12 months. In August 1989, I completed my thesis on "Intracranial Ultrasonography in the Newborn and Infant," becoming a specialist. In September 1989, I was appointed chief resident at the same hospital.
I graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Anadolu University, which I began in 1985, in 1989.
In October 1991, I took the Ministry of Health exam and received the title of associate professor in Radiodiagnostics. In June 1993, I passed the Ministry of Health exam and was appointed assistant chief of the Radiology Department at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital. In February 1995, I attended Tabar's Mammography course in San Diego.
In September 1998, I passed the Ministry of Health exam and was appointed chief of the Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Radiology Department.
In 2004, I was promoted to Professor of Radiology.
I have published 47 articles (14 internationally and 33 domestically), 39 invited talks at various congresses, symposiums, panels, and courses, 21 national presentations, 8 international and 48 domestic posters. I have authored chapters in five books. My published articles have been cited in more than 20 international books and various publications.
I currently work in Breast Radiology at the Radiologica Imaging Center of Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine.
I am a member of the Turkish Association of Radiology and the Association of Medical Imaging and Interventional Radiology.
