Currently, there are several different surgical procedures used in the treatment of breast cancer. These procedures are broadly divided into two main groups: those aimed at preserving the breast without removal and those aimed at removing the entire breast. When breast cancer is detected in its early stages, breast-conserving surgery, which does not involve removal of the breast, can be performed. In cases where breast cancer is detected early, surgical procedures that do not involve removal of the breast minimize the psychological trauma of the disease. Additionally, there are procedures that replace the removed breast with reconstruction using plastic surgery techniques.
