Stereotaxy is a computer-aided system that localizes lesions in the third dimension using radiographs taken in two different planes.
Using stereotaxy guidance, vacuum biopsy is possible by localizing lesions and microcalcifications that are visible only on mammography but not on sonography. Vacuum needle systems are frequently used in stereotactic systems.
In addition to our stereotactic system, our clinic also performs vacuum biopsies guided by tomosynthesis, which allows for more precise targeting.
Vacuum biopsy avoids unnecessary surgery, leaves no surgical scars on the breast, and eliminates anesthesia.
